° Standard size baked pie dough.
° 1½ cups water.
° 1 cup white sugar.
° 4 eggs, large, separate the yolk from the white.
° 2 sized Lemons, squeezed
° The flavor of two medium lemons.
° 6 teaspoons of white sugar.
° 3 teaspoons of cornstarch.
° 2 teaspoons all-purpose flour.
° 2 teaspoons of soft butter.
° 1/4 teaspoon of salt.
Here's how to make :
Step 1:
I started the preparation by preheating the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.Step 2: Then whisk the flour, cornstarch and salt in a medium saucepan. I added lemon zest with juice and water.
Step 3:
Then I cooked, stirring occasionally, over medium-high heat until mixture boiled.
The fourth step:
Next, I added the butter to the mixture and, in a small bowl, whisked the egg yolks with ½ cup of the hot sugar until smooth, returning to the rest of the sugar mixture with the yolks.
Fifth step:
At this point, bring to a boil, then simmer, stirring constantly, until sauce thickens.After reducing the heat, I put the filling on the toasted crust.
Sixth step:
To make the meringue, I whisk the egg whites until frothy in a large cup or metal plate.
Seventh step:
I added the sugar in a slow, steady stream before stiff peaks formed, and once done, spread the meringue over the pie and seal the sides of the crust.
Step 8:
To finish, I put the pie in the preheated oven and baked it for ten minutes.
